Breastfeeding in the Sanctuary:

It may or may not be permitted, but it does not feel welcome.

Private Nursing Locations:

There is no nursing room.  However, one may use the rabbi’s study to breastfeed, although you need to get a key from the rabbi in order to do so- the room (located near the upstairs women’s balcony) is kept locked.  Furthermore, “The room is in complete disarray. [The Respondent] needed to move stuff around and bring in a chair. ”

General Child Friendliness:

There are no changing tables available.  Strollers are generally left in a long corridor next to the entrance of the synagogue.  The is no place to keep a child’s needed supplies.


This synagogue received a rating of “Lousy but tolerable for whatever reasons- 5” out of 7, where 1 is the best rating and 7 is the worst.
